STEVEN GERRARD has held up his hands and admitted to Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez that his form has been a big let-down.

Benitez revealed Gerrard has taken a lot of responsibility for the Kop’s dire showing, with the club eighth in the table.

The Reds have lost seven of their 18 league matches – compared with just two defeats last season – and are 14 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Benitez said: “We have a lot of corridors at Anfield and we bump into one another a lot – and every time Steven says he wants to give more.

“We don’t need to organise a proper meeting. Every time I speak to him I am sure 100 per cent he wants to give more.
