Bad luck Ferrara, Trezeguet out for 5 weeks
The French national has a second degree strain to the right ankle and will miss at least six games. The aim is to be back in action for Genoa. With no Iaquinta, Amauri will take his place against Milan
Three more points in the league table but one less striker. This is the situation facing Juventus the day after their match against Parma; the Bianconeri have lost David Trezeguet to injury for at least 40 days. The French striker, who was stretchered off at the Tardini, had an MR scan this morning. Tests showed a second-degree strain at the external compartment of his right ankle, meaning David won’t be back for at least 40 days. He will miss at least six games (5 Serie A matches and 1 Coppa Italia clash), but the aim is to get him back in action by the Juventus-Genoa game (14 February), more importantly because four days later there’s the first leg of the Europa League against Ajax.
Step up Amauri — This is a real blow for Ferrara who on the day of his team’s return to victory, lost his fittest, and best-scoring striker (8 goals this season). It’s more than likely now that he will have to rethink the team’s attacking strategy. Given Iaquinta won’t be playing (who returned to group training and kicked the ball around this morning but won’t be in the team against Milan), Amauri will take David Trezeguet’s place, starting from the tricky clash against the Rossoneri. He has no other choice, even though it’s not the best of times for the Brazilian at the moment. There’s no getting away from the numbers: just 4 goals in 23 games and one red card. Not a lot at all, considering Iaquinta has scored the same number in just 8 games. Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone played really well.”

Ribery appears doubtful against Juventus
Bayern Munich tackle Juventus knowing only a victory in Turin will be good enough to see them maintain their interest in the UEFA Champions League.
Juventus are currently second in Group B behind group winners Bordeaux and need only a point in their final outing to secure a place in the last 16.
The Old Lady would love a repeat of the scoreline in their first meeting when the sides played out a goalless draw in the Allianz Arena in September.
