MILAN - Massimo Moratti analysed Inter’s victory over Palermo on Inter Channel after Thursday night’s eight-goal thriller at the Meazza. He said: “It really was a Crazy Inter. We could have scored ten goals in the first half, in those forty-five very nice minutes with some fabulous moves. Those four goals weren’t enough to stop us from suffering because those twenty minutes - due to our carelessness, insecurity, but also for Palermo’s good play - showed us that you can’t relax in football.
“Balotelli had a splendid match tonight. He showed his class and generosity because he gave the ball to all his team-mates. There’s a bit of him in all four goals scored by Inter (in the first half) tonight.
“I enjoyed the first half. The second a bit less, but it really was a beautiful game. Milito’s entrance was necessary and Thiago Motta also performed very well. So apart from the opponents’ goals, it’s all positive. Read more…

Tough tackling Inter centre-back Ivan Cordoba has not held back in his response to news Zlatan Ibrahimovic kissed Barcelona’s badge at his official unveiling.
Inter exchanged Ibrahimovic for Samuel Eto’o plus £40m and former Arsenal playmaker Aliaksandr Hleb who arrives at San Siro on a one-year loan deal.
Ibrahimovic was presented to the Spanish Press yesterday afternoon and on being given a Barcelona shirt he picked it up and kissed the badge.
The gesture sparked outrage amongst Inter’s fans who had grown used to hearing him say he supported the Nerazzurri as a boy back home in Sweden.
“He was not here for 10 years and so I think it’s normal [to kiss the shirt],” Cordoba told Sky Sport Italia as Inter returned from the World Football Challenge in America. Read more…
Inter coach Jose Mourinho has declared himself interested in replacing Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of Manchester United, once the great Scot retires.
Mourinho bossed Chelsea to back-to-back Premier League titles during his tenure at Stamford Bridge. His reign over the Blues came to an unceremonious end after a breakdown in the relationship between the Portuguese and owner Roman Abramovich.
‘The Special One’ has since been successful in Italy, winning Serie A, but would welcome a return to England with the Red Devils in the future.
“I would consider going to Manchester United but United have to consider if their want me to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson,” Mourinho said, according to The Daily Mail. Read more…
Jose Mourinho has admitted he was left angered by the decision to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Barcelona, although the Inter Milan coach reveals he is delighted to welcome Samuel Eto’o to the San Siro. He believes Inter Milan have done good business in selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Barcelona.
Inter are on the verge of completing a deal which will see them receive 45 million euros ($64m) plus Eto’o for Ibrahimovic after both players agreed terms with their prospective clubs.
Mourinho knows it will be a blow to lose last year’s leading goalscorer in Serie A but, speaking about the deal for the first time, admitted it is a fantastic bit of business.
“I was a bit angry because no coach is happy to lose Ibrahimovic,” the Portuguese told Sky Italia. Read more…
As champions of Italy, Inter should be defending the pride of the nation. They should be the team that all Italian clubs look to catch, the team they all want to be. Can we really say that has been the case this summer? Thrifty work on the transfer market and disappointing friendly performances have made it seem like we are following a pre-Calciopoli Nerazzurri. Should we not expect more from our standard-bearers?
Nobody can dispute that Diego Milito and Thiago Motta are fine signings, but picking up players who have proven themselves at Genoa on their second chance at the top level is not what a true Champions League contender should be doing. What happened to the interest in Ricardo Carvalho? Yes, Lucio is a star name but he clearly was not Jose Mourinho’s first choice. What about Carlos Tevez? Sergio Agüero? Karim Benzema? Read more…
