The England striker has scored nine goals this term playing in his favoured centre-forward role.
And United are ready to reward Rooney for his impressive form with a bumper new contract when negotiations begin in February.
According to the News of the World, the 24-year-old’s new terms include a £45,000-per-week image rights deal to become the new poster boy for the current Barclays Premier League champions.
Barcelona are keen on the England striker and United want to tie up a new deal before the World Cup as they know a successful summer for Rooney would see his profile sky rocket.
