DAVID BECKHAM still wishes he was a Manchester United player.
That is why he will not be celebrating if he scores against his old club in the second round of the Champions League.
The former England skipper faces United next Tuesday for the first time since his acrimonious departure to Real Madrid seven years ago.
Becks, on loan at AC Milan, is looking forward to his reunion but clearly he would still like Old Trafford to be his permanent home.
He said: “I always wish I was part of Manchester United, it is just in me.
“Even though I am not there any more, I am still a huge fan.
“Coming to terms with not being a United player was certainly the toughest thing I’ve ever had to deal with.

David Beckham enjoyed a winning return to the AC Milan side as they outclassed Genoa 5-2 at the San Siro.
Watched by England coach Fabio Capello, Beckham impressed on the right side of a three-man attack in his first game since beginning a second loan spell.
Injuries to Alexandre Pato and Clarence Seedorf meant 34-year-old Beckham played further forward than usual.
“That is the synthesis of what he is about. He has an absolute willingness to help,” said Milan coach Leonardo.
“He had a week where we tried him in every role. He has extraordinary quality and tactical intelligence.”
After Ronaldinho had an early penalty saved, Genoa went ahead on 25 minutes but Milan were 2-1 up at half-time.

But Milan coach Leonardo revealed he expects Beckham to be more than just a bit-part player as AC look to hunt down bitter rivals Inter at the top of Serie A.
And the former Brazil star also left the door open for Beckham to make a permanent move to the San Siro after the World Cup.
Beckham made 20 appearances under Carlo Ancelotti in last season’s loan stint with Milan.
Although Ancelotti is now at Chelsea, it appears his successor is happy with the loan deal.

AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso will reconsider his future at the club if he does not get more playing time.
The Italy international, who is a reported target of Manchester City, has seen his minutes on the pitch decrease this term, partly due to injuries as well as coach Leonardo’s rotation policy.
